Call for Immediate Impact Project proposals

For Information Only - Deadline has Passed

Welcome to the web-page for preparation of Immediate Impact Project full proposals. Full proposals will be accepted only from investigators whose pre-proposals have been selected, and so notified, November 25, 2009.

In order to ensure early results from the Horticulture CRSP, the first year of funding will be devoted to Immediate Impact Projects.  In this call we are seeking pre-proposals from qualified institutions and investigators for ‘shovel ready’ projects that address the priorities, objectives, and themes of the Horticulture CRSP, and that can be implemented rapidly.

Our objective is to seek proposals that have already been written for other funding calls (for example the USDA Specialty Crops Initiative) and that can readily be re-purposed to the requirements of the Horticulture CRSP. Since our first-year budget provides for approximately 14 Immediate Impact Projects, the HortCRSP Program Council will select a limited number of pre-proposals,  and the selected PIs will be asked to prepare full proposals.

The maximum amount awarded per project will be $150,000.  The award period will be approximately 1/1/10 – 12/31/10, and therefore the timeline for preparation of full proposals will be very short, which underscores the importance of presenting pre-proposals based on previously-prepared grant proposals or built on existing collaborative programs.

This page provides online access to documents that will be needed in preparing a full proposal:
