Description

This illustrated poster includes images of best practices and also "bad practices" for growing voacanga in Ghana, with tips for each stage of the value chain including:

  • Nursery site selection
  • Nursery bed preparation
  • Raising seedlings and nursery management
  • Land preparation
  • Transplanting
  • Fertilizer application
  • Pest and disease control
  • Harvest
  • Postharvest practices

The poster also includes a basic growing calendar for voacanga in Ghana. An additional poster describes quality standards of voacanga pods and voacanga seeds, including minimal quality requirements.

The poster is by Dan Acquayre of ASNAPP-Ghana, along with co-authors Juliana Asante-Dartey, Jim Simon, Rodolfo Juliani, Charles Quansah, Richard Akromah, Eric Asare, Larry Amekuse, Akua Benewaah, Joseph Agyiri and Steve Boadu.
