Description

This presentation given by Nancy Chen of UH Manoa on "New technologies and techniques for minimizing postharvest disease loss, especially for papayas" contains information on postharvest disease control methods, including biocontrol, for papayas. It includes a comparison of postharvest loss in developed versus developing countries, causes of losses, storage limitations, potential diseases and deficiencies, and biocontrol of these diseases. It concludes with a summary of how to prevent postharvest losses in papaya production. This presentation is associated with the Horticulture Innovation Lab project "Developing a postharvest alternative to fungicide: Sri Lanka."
