Rolando Cifuentes Velásquez.  PhD. in Agronomy focused on Soil Science from New Mexico State University, USA.  Director of the Center for Agricultural and Food Studies and soil science professor at Universidad del Valle de Guatemala.  He has participated as PI of several projects related to horticulture, Ag innovation, food security and agribusiness.  Areas of professional interest include soil fertility and soil health and quality, soil remediation, agroforestry systems, regenerative agriculture, food security and nutrition, climate change adaptation and protected agriculture.
