Horticulture Innovation Lab in Guinea

As part of Feed the Future, the Horticulture Innovation Lab has conducted research in Guinea focused on improving the horticulture value chain, establishing a horticulture hub, partnering with youth, and improving postharvest practices.

The Horticulture Innovation Lab first started working in Guinea in the wake of the Ebola outbreak, when the program was commissioned to assess horticulture value chains in Guinea including constraints and opportunities at the household and commercial levels.

Rapid Assessment of the Horticulture Sector in Guinea

Find out more about horticulture in Guinea from this 2015 report commissioned by USAID, including aspects of the horticulture sector such as input markets, pest management, entrepreneurship, postharvest, nutrition, policy, and human institutional capacity development. This project's goal is to introduce novel technologies that will improve production practices and reduce postharvest losses in Guinea. These technologies will be delivered through a market-driven and youth-led Horticulture Training and Services Center in Kindia, Guinea.
