Duarte Mansoa is a technical agent specialized in community engagement and gender and has taken on the coordination of projects at local level. He has a degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Pinar del Río, having spent most of his academic career in Cuba. He also attended international training courses specialized in Entrepreneurship and International Trade.
Over the last 15 years he has dedicated himself to local associations, assuming the role of Executive Secretary of AMAE, Confederation of Women's Associations with Economic Activities, a Bissau-Guinean association specialized in strengthening women's organizations, in terms of skills, functional literacy, access and management of micro-credit, research into economic solutions and management and marketing of local products, especially agricultural products.
Before joining AMAE, Duarte Mansoa worked as Chief Accountant of a national accounting company in Guinea-Bissau and as Financial Director of the Cooperative for the Promotion and Commercialization of National Agricultural Products in Guinea-Bissau.
He has successfully led several community development projects in Guinea-Bissau, namely, the “Capacity Building at Gabú’s Economic and Multifunctional Center” Project, in partnership with United Nations Women, the “Access to Justice in the Gabú Region” Project, in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and supervised by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of Guinea-Bissau, and the “Enhance the Multifunctional Center of Gabú” Project, financed by the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission and United Nations Women, in partnership with Plan International. Duarte Mansoa was a trainer in Accounting for the associated members of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Services (CCIAS).
As Executive Secretary of AMAE, he has partnered with different actors in Guinea-Bissau, maintaining the quality of the institutional relationship and operational execution of projects, in particular with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), United Nations Women, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Food Program (WFP), US Embassy, Delegation of European Union (DUE), African Development Bank (AfDB), Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Rural Development, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Fisheries, Ministry of Women, Family and Social Cohesion, Ministry of Commerce, Tourism and Crafts, Ministry of Public Service and Professional Training, Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Communities, among others.
