Welcome message

The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture is pleased to host this year's 2023 Annual Feed the Future Innovation Labs Regional Partners Meeting, in Nairobi, Kenya. The Innovation Lab for Horticulture Associate Director, Erin J. McGuire, who is also serving as Chair of the Feed the Future Innovation Labs, would like to welcome you to join us for this meeting from May 15 - 19, 2023 at the Windsor Hotel in Nairobi. The goals and objectives of this meeting, themed Systemic Solutions for Climate Adaptation and Mitigation in Agriculture, Food, and Nutrition Systems, are to:

  • understand geographic differences, priorities, and trade-offs of climate change mitigation and adaptation
  • highlight systems and scaling challenges and transformative solutions
  • embrace opportunities for local-led leadership and international collaboration.

This meeting will bring together USAID Bureau for Resilience and Food Security, USAID Missions, all 20 Innovation Labs, regional partners, as well as CGIAR and other perspectives to the agenda. Here is the Agenda for the public days (May 15th and 16th), when approximately 150-200 people are expected to attend.

Registration

Closed April 21st. We have blocked out rooms at the Windsor, however, attendees will need to connect with the hotel directly to confirm their room and provide a credit card.

Booking Your Room

To book your room at The Windsor please contact reservations@windsor.co.ke with your dates and your credit card details. Please fill out this credit card authorization form - Windsor CC Form - and email the completed form. For group name, use USAID FTF Innovation Lab Partners Meeting, reference 3461.

Your Visa

Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Kenya, with at least two blank pages. You will also need to obtain a visa prior to your arrival. Visa requirements vary depending on your country of origin. It’s the sole responsibility of all visitors intending to enter the Republic of Kenya to check visa requirements. We advise that you check with your nearest Kenyan embassy or consulate to determine the specific requirements for your nationality.

Ideally you will submit for a business visa, but this is only possible if you have a Kenyan contact willing to provide their ID for the visa process. You do not need to upload a business certificate. If you don't have an in-country contact, you can apply for a tourist visa

COVID 19 REQUIREMENTS

All passengers arriving in Kenya through any point of entry must have a certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination or Negative Covid test result 72 hours prior to travel. Covid test results must be verified and entered on the Pana bios traveler network or on global haven globalhaven.org

The mandatory Ministry of Health Travelers Health Surveillance Online Form must be filled out and submitted prior to travel. The online form can be accessed from the Ministry of Health website: ears.health.go.ke/airline_registration/. After submission of the travel surveillance form, Passengers are advised to download the QR code. Passengers will be required to display the QR code to port health officials on arrival for them to be allowed to proceed to arrival immigration.
