Symposium on Horticultural Science

The Horticulture Innovation Lab and the Royal University of Agriculture presented a Symposium on Horticultural Science on March 18, 2016, at the RUA campus in Phnom Penh.

2016 Annual Meeting

Where: Angkor Paradise Hotel, Siem Reap, Cambodia

In 2016, the Horticulture Innovation Lab held its annual meeting in Cambodia. The event brought together the program's international team, local horticultural experts, and development practitioners.

2015 Annual Meeting

The Horticulture Innovation Lab gathered its team of collaborators in Zambia for its 2015 annual meeting.

Postharvest in Horticulture: Reducing losses and improving quality to capture high-value crops

The Horticulture Innovation Lab held a briefing about improving postharvest practices for horticultural crops, July 24, 2014 at the UC Washington Center in Washington, D.C.

The event brought together experts on new postharvest technologies, challenges and opportunities in improving postharvest practices, methods for scaling, and an overview of efforts to reduce postharvest losses and improve food safety in developing countries.

Horticulture: Key Opportunities for Nutrition

Where: Washington, D.C.

The Horticulture Innovation Lab held a forum discussion of the relationship between horticulture and nutrition, July 9 in Washington, D.C.

The event included highlights of how the Horticulture Innovation Lab's research has related to nutrition during the program's first five years — including projects focused on African indigenous vegetables and orange- and purple-fleshed sweet potatoes.

2013 Annual Meeting

More than 65 members of the extended Horticulture Innovation Lab team (then called Horticulture CRSP) gathered from five continents for the 2013 annual meeting, May 6-9 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The meeting objectives were:

Inauguration: Regional Center of Innovation at Zamorano

When: Sept. 28, 2012
Where: Panamerican Agricultural School, Zamorano, in Honduras

Editor's note: Now called the Horticulture Innovation Lab Regional Center at Zamorano, this center launched while the program was called "Horticulture CRSP."

Horticulture CRSP is proud to celebrate the inauguration of the Horticulture CRSP Regional Center of Innovation at Zamorano, as a means of enhancing fruit, vegetable and flower production for smallholder farmers in Central America.

2012 Annual Meeting

Invited to participate in the 2012 annual meeting were the management entity team, Pilot Project Principal investigators (PIs) and collaborators, Comprehensive Project PIs and collaborators, International Advisory Board, and invited speakers and guests. 

2011 Annual Meeting

When: April 19-20, 2011
Where: University of California, Davis (USA)

The Horticulture Innovation Lab's first "annual meeting" brought together project collaborators and partners for a three-day review of initial project accomplishments, knowledge exchange and networking.

2010 Inception Workshop

When: May 16-18, 2010
Where: National Institute of Education, Singapore

The Horticulture Innovation Lab (at the time, the program was named Horticulture CRSP) held its Inception Workshop on May 16-18, 2010 in Singapore at the National Institute of Education. Ninety-five participants from 34 countries around the world joined the management team in a lively discussion about the potential for horticulture development to reduce poverty and improve livelihoods around the world.
