The horticulture project in Guinea-Bissau aims to strengthen the horticulture sector in the regions of Oio, Cacheu and Bissau. This initiative is supported by the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture at UC Davis. The project seeks to improve productivity, sustainability, and market access for smallholder farmers, with a focus on involving women and youth. The baseline survey was conducted to assess the current state of horticultural activities, available resources, and challenges faced by the communities, and to provide a foundation for project planning and implementation. Additionally, this baseline survey will inform the selection of one main and the two mini-demonstration site locations as well as ten communities from each of the regions of project intervention.
