Jaime Torres graduated in Agronomic Engineering, with a specialty in Plant Protection at the Zamorano University (Honduras) in 1990, and has over three decades of experience working for institutions dedicated to research, crop production, capacity building, technological transfer, and commercialization.
He has worked alongside agricultural producers in programs aimed at agricultural diversification and grain production, financed by international organizations. He is experienced working with small, mid-size and large producers, as well as associations and cooperatives with the objective to improve technical knowledge, production methods, marketing, and business strategies with the aim of creating sustainable agricultural businesses, with a focus on value chains aligned with market demand and services for farmers.
He has additional experience in planning, management, implementation, and monitoring of product development in agricultural and non-agricultural value chains, including the management and administration of budgets, human resources, and working with multidisciplinary teams from the public and private sectors, cooperative groups, and others.
