Description

Developing virus- and soil borne pathogen-resistant grafted hybrid tomatoes for production in Latin America is the subject of the short presentation given by Jim Nienhuis. Nienhuis, of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is the primary investigator of this project with funding from the Horticulture Innovation Lab.

In 2016, women's groups, who produce these value-added grafted hybrids for market, sold 630,000 in Costa Rica alone. The project operates in Guatelmala, Honduras, and Costa Rica.

This presentation was given at the 2017 Horticulture Innovation Lab annual meeting in Antigua, Guatemala.
