International Advisory Board Member

The Horticulture Innovation Lab's International Advisory Board (IAB) is the program's senior advisory council.

The IAB appoints the technical review panels for Horticulture Innovation Lab projects and reviews the panelists’ recommendations to ensure that Horticulture Innovation Lab priorities are met and integrated for maximum effectiveness. The IAB helps set priorities, allocate the budget, and ensure that objectives of USAID, the Global Horticulture Assessment, and the Horticulture Innovation Lab are met.

Additional ex-officio members of the IAB include Beth Mitcham and Erin McGuire of the Horticulture Innovation Lab's management entity.

Guillermo Alvarado-Downing

Guillermo Alvarado-Downing served as the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Honduras, and currently owns a fruit and vegetable farm.

Ermias Kebreab

Ermias Kebreab is an associate dean of global engagement for the UC Davis College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and director of the UC Davis World Food Center.

L. George Wilson

George Wilson has been a professor of horticultural science at North Carolina State University since 1975. His research, teaching and extension focuses on postharvest physiology and technology.

R. Shanthi Wilson Wijeratnam

Shanthi Wilson is a consultant and worked as a project manager for 35 years with the Industrial Technology Institute in Sri Lanka.

Detlef Virchow

Josette Lewis

Eric Kueneman
