2019 Annual Meeting

When: March 25-28, 2019
Where: Washington, D.C., at The Madison hotel, 1177 15th St NW

In 2019, the Horticulture Innovation Lab held its annual meeting events in Washington, D.C. The event brought together parts of the program's global research network — including the management team, advisory board members, representatives from ongoing research projects, a selection of student alumni, previous grant recipients, development experts, and horticulture scientists.

These events are invitation-only. The annual meeting events in 2019 included:

  • Horticulture Research for Development Conference: March 26-27
This 2-day conference brought together the Horticulture Innovation Lab network with government leaders, development professionals and other researchers to discuss the challenges and opportunities in fruits and vegetables, and to commit to a vision that truly nourishes a healthy, productive society.
  • Horticulture Innovation Lab project workday: March 28
The internal workday was for currently funded principal investigators (P.I.s), collaborators, board members and management entity staff members.
  • Trellis Fund Summit: March 25 - 28
This summit brought together alumni students and funded organizations from several years of Trellis Fund project activities to reflect on success, challenges, and lessons learned for the program.
  • International Advisory Board meeting sessions: March 25 - 29
